Part Time Financial Controller required by engineering company based in Glasgow. Salary negotiable depending on skills and experience. This role is offered on a part time basis working 3-5 days per week.
-Based predominantly from the company's headquarters in Glasgow, the right individual will be jointly responsible for the efforts and results of the financial department of a manufacturing operating in a niche sector.
-Responsible for producing financial accounts for the Board.
-Line responsibility to the Managing Director for quality of all accounting activities.
-Experience of accounting for stock, WIP, Sage line 200 and financial software products will be advantageous
-There may be travel involved between the company's headquarters and any other bases of operations.
-Should be a self-starter able to work with minimal supervision and be prepared to roll up their sleeves get hands dirty and hit the ground running.

Financial Controller Job Duties:
-Oversee and have knowledge of all company and subsidiary accounts
-Help to supervise and manage finance team, including accountants and financial assistants including being involved in performance reviews.
-Review / reconciliation of all monthly control accounts including stock, WIP, bank, debtors ledger, creditor's ledger
-Consolidation of the Group's results
-Report to the Chief Executive/Managing Director with timely and accurate financial information
-Assisting maintaining corporate Governance in line with Board policies.
-Assist the Managing Director in presenting reports to the Board and lenders.
-Collaborate with auditors to ensure timely reporting of statutory accounts and producing interim accounts as required
-Preparation of necessary audit files including interim audits
-Help create monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
-Help manage daily, weekly and monthly cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
-Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities
-Examine all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
-Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, including stock, WIP, payroll and invoicing
-Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
-Ensure that the financial reporting systems comply with current accounting and tax legislation
-Develop budgets and financial plans for the Company and other subsidiaries
-Ensure that systems prevent errors in data collection and calculations
Skills and Qualifications:
A recognised professional accounting training (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or CA), (and/or Bachelor's degree or master's degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field); not less than 2 years of experience in a similar role; interpersonal skills; honesty; integrity; reliability; solid written and verbal communication skills; high attention to detail; critical thinking and problem-solving skills; analytical skills; computer skills (especially excel); adaptability as the business profile changes.
