Joinery Sales Consultant (Windows, Doors, Stairs, Flooring)
My client is currently recruiting for a vacancy within their Specialist Joinery Team. This role will be based within thier very busy Sales Hub and will include dealing with enquiries and orders, maintaining existing sales whilst seeking opportunities to develop new business for Joinery & Associated Products.
Location: Southampton
Hours: 40 hours, 08:00 - 17:00; Monday - Friday
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively dealing with customers both over the phone and face to face from the initial enquiry stage and then following the sales process through from start to finish. This will include but not limited to
o Producing Quotes
o Raising Orders
o Invoicing
- Sourcing Joinery products and negotiating prices with suppliers to quote competitively while maintaining an acceptable profit margin
- Contributing to the team effort; dealing with a wide variety of queries/requests etc that arise in the department
- Supporting our external sales team with their customers and where necessary taking on the role of their internal contact
Requirements:
- Proactive attitude towards sales with the ability to recognize an opportunity to up sell and supply a wider range of building materials than the initial enquiry required
- A good knowledge of the building process is preferable, as is good product knowledge in regards to Joinery and related products, but training for the right candidate can be provided
- The ability to work effectively and professionally with our current customers and suppliers is extremely important, as is the ability to forge new relationships with prospective customers and suppliers
- The ability to work well with both the team and colleagues within our Branch network is essential as the will be the necessity for stock ordering of some product ranges for the branches as required
- Understanding customer drawings would be a distinct advantage, but not a necessity
- Competent use of Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel
- Ability to understand profit, margins etc is important
