The Company is a leading UK player in the construction industry and operating in the international market that services a 'Blue Chip' client base within the commercial, retail, residential, museum and hotel/leisure sectors.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced Quantity Surveyor to work on a range of fit out/refit and refurbishment projects in the commercial, retail and banking and hotel/leisure sectors in and around London on a permanent basis.
This position is primarily responsible for the day to day commercial management of projects involving close liaison and supervision of the project team to ensure the smooth operations and deliverance of outcomes. The budget this position oversees is between £1 and £60m.
The key responsibilities of the position involve:
- Project delivery including pre-contract elements
- Sub-contract management, procurement and negotiation
- Valuations and supervision of sub-contracts
- Preparation of interim applications
- Project valuations, planning budgets and costing
- Management of projects to final accounts stage
- Reporting to management
- Cost/value reconciliations and ensuring standard costs are accurate
- Risk management and capital trend analysis
- Resolution of contractual issues
- Management of client variation records and supervision of variation process
Ideal Requirements:
- Degree Qualified
- Practical Experience on Site
- Required skills of a Quantity Surveyor in the Building Industry
