A fantastic opportunity for a Electronic Engineer to join an existing
R&D team in the Newcastle area. Established for over thirty years, my
client is an independent designer & manufacturer of cutting edge,
niche handheld electromechanical products utilised in a variety of
end-user markets. As a result of growth and an ambitious new product
development and business plan, my client are looking to add to their
existing R&D team to support growth and expansion.
Job Purpose
As a member of the Electronics design and development team, the
candidate will be required to develop, prototype and verify a new
range of handheld products. The team is fast paced, very 'hands on'
and the role will include a range of different electronic design
disciplines. Also as a member of the team you will be occasionally
required to travel to customer production facilities worldwide to
install and configure our equipment.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Design and develop circuit designs for analogue and digital
* Proactively test and debug circuit designs for analogue and
digital
* Perform feasibility investigations and develop prototypes
* Liaise effectively with colleagues in other disciplines such as
embedded firmware, PCB design, mechanical and manufacturing
* Review and support existing products to improve performance and
reduce cost
Key requirements
* 1st or 2:1 degree in Electronics Engineering
* Post grad experience in an engineering setting
* Programming expertise ideally with assembler or C
suite/Python/Siemens
* Excellent understanding of electronics fundamentals and the
ability to apply this knowledge
* Analogue and digital circuit design experience
* Embedded system design knowledge
* Software engineering experience
* PCB design and layout experience
* Good prototyping, debugging and fault-finding skills
