Customer Service Advisor

Directorate: Corporate Services

Reports to: Head of Investment Management

Job Purpose: The role will be required to assess the strength of project ideas both written and verbal. Diagnose customers’ needs, match them against Sport England funding priorities and prevent a large number of enquiries progressing further. The role will be expected to deal with a high volume of calls and expression of interests.

Budget: None

Location: Loughborough.

Shift Working: There will be an expectation of evening and weekend working. We will discuss arrangements with potential post-holders before any final recruitment decisions are made.

Key Contacts

External: A wide range of applicants and organisations from voluntary sports clubs through to Local Authorities.

Internal: All colleagues in the Investment Management Team, and some crossdirectorate liaison, including senior staff.


The roles will support delivery of Sport England’s investment strategy which drives the outcomes set out within our Towards an Active Nation strategy by delivering excellent customer service through our Funding Helpline/ Inbox and other customer facing media.
