About The Role
TRL's Infrastructure division are looking to recruit a technician to maintain the electronic and mechanical systems on our fleet of highway survey vehicles.
Key Duties / Responsibilities
The position will be to maintain a ready state of operation of a range of bespoke research and survey vehicles. Working closely with the development and QA teams, this role will include routine systems checks and calibration, fault finding and diagnostics, operation of equipment, software and systems upgrade. On board systems include: GPS positioning, wheel encoders, Laser measurement and imaging, HD CCTV, Data loggers etc.
The role will also include data processing with Excel and other bespoke software both on the move and in house.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- A background in the maintenance, repair and calibration of electronic and electrical equipment.
- Good IT skills including MS Excel.
- A good understanding of mechanics.
Desirable
- Class 1 Driving Licence
- Programming skills.
Qualifications
- A technical educational background ideally with at least 2 'A' levels or equivalent in Maths / Science / Engineering subjects. Candidates holding higher education qualifications, such as an HND or degree in a technical subject, would also be welcomed, but this is not essential to successfully deliver the role.
Communication Requirements
Eligible candidates must be able to demonstrate fluency in both verbal and written English.
