Learning Support Assistant (Term Time) required for a co-educational school specialising in the care and education of pupils between the ages of 5 to 19, who are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum with associated learning difficulties. Children may also have challenging behaviour as a result of their communication difficulties and lack of social understanding.
This role will involve providing student support within the classroom. The ability to work flexibly across all age groups and the confidence to deal with challenging behaviours is essential for this post.
Requirements:
Previous Learning Support Assistant experience
Teaching Assistant qualification desirable but not essential
Previous experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour
This role is 38 weeks, term time only.
