We are currently seeking to fill the following role at HMP Exeter:

Resettlement Co-ordinator (Departure Lounge)
Ref: 24.18

Hours: Part time 28 hours per week
Salary: £18,500-£23,500 pro rata per annum depending on experience
Contract: Fixed term 12 Months

The Departure Lounge Resettlement Coordinator role is a new role based at HMP Exeter. The coordinator will work closely with the Community Engagement manager to create an innovative service recently commissioned by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.

The Departure Lounge seeks to create a more considered release from prison, providing practical support such as the charging of phones, and items of clothing, emotional support through the volunteer run café, statutory support through DWP, the Probation Service and local authorities and Voluntary Sector support through a wide range of third sector agencies. The other essential element of the role will be bringing enthusiasm and energy to the discharge board to make it relevant and purposeful.

The Coordinator will have experience of multi-agency working. They will be coordinating a number of agencies who will be running the café and supporting the organisations and working with prisoners to identify agencies that can provide the services they need. The Post holder will need to have a flexible approach and as this is a pilot project, they will need to be adaptable and solution focused as the project develops. We are looking for someone who is confident, self-motivated with experience of running or developing projects.

This role is a real opportunity to make a difference not only to individual prisoners on release but to create long lasting systems change by being part of a new approach that puts the individual at the heart of the service.
