Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading dementia charity. We provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.
Position: Group Coordinator
Location: Bath and North East Somerset
Contract type: Permanent, Part Time
Hours: 21 per week
Salary: GBP11,167 actual per annum
Closing date: 5pm on Thursday 12th July
Interview date: TBC
About the role:
The Group Coordinator organises and facilitates the successful and safe provision of services delivered in a group setting. Group activities can inform, educate, support and provide structured activities with identified outcomes for attendees in a group setting. Groups are for a specific type of client, for example groups for people with dementia only or people with dementia and their carer. The type of service delivered in a group setting may include: Dementia Caf??, Activity Groups and Singing for the Brain
This role includes the role management of volunteers who help in the group services
About you:
Are you a driven and enthusiastic communicator and organiser who loves to see people affected by dementia thrives in joined activities. We love to hear from you if you fit any of the following:
- An understanding of the value of groups activities to people living with dementia
- Experience of co-ordinating volunteers
- An understanding of the needs of people with dementia and their carers
- An understanding of the need for service user confidentiality
- An understanding of collaborative working
- Able to use Information Technology
