Provide legal advice and assistance to the UK business divisions. The work for the business divisions includes drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, managing both small and large scale disputes and litigation and advising on marketing, data protection, brand and reputational issues.
Provide legal advice and support to the Group functions: Group Treasury, Group Procurement, Group Finance, Group Tax and Company Secretarial.
Provide support to the UK Head of Legal in reporting significant legal matters to the UK Executive Committee and ensuring compliance with Group delegated authorities and protocols.
Provide support to the UK Head of Legal in managing the relationships with the Legal Panel of solicitors and ensuring compliance with Panel protocols.
Work with the UK businesses and Group functions to improve business standards and reduce risk, including by drafting and assisting in the roll-out of new policies and procedures and providing training on legal and practical issues.
As the Group's business continues to grow and diversify, there is also the opportunity to support M&A activity and advise on new joint ventures and partnerships.
The successful candidate will be diligent and driven and will thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will have a record of success as a senior in house lawyer / head of legal or equivalent experience gained in Private Practice.
You will have the following qualifications, experience and skills:
An England and Wales qualified solicitor with 8 plus years PQE
Experience advising on some or all of: general commercial contracts; IT and IP matters; data protection and brand protection matters; competition law matters; public procurement matters; and litigation and dispute resolution. While previous in-house experience is preferred, it is not essential.
