Case/Support Worker – Mental Health

£20,661 - £24,174 pa
37.5 hrs per week

At St Mungo’s our vision is that everyone has a place to call home and can fulfil their hopes and ambitions.

Our Mental Health service in Bath (Weston Village), is a psychologically informed environment in which clients and staff build trusting and respectful relationships which aim to empower clients.  With easy transport links into Bath and Bristol, the service’s property has allotments, a small orchard and a round house.

As a Case/Support Worker, you will provide specific mental health, housing and other related support to vulnerable adults. You will support clients with their mental health issues during their stay with a focus on their recovery, involvement, rights and responsibilities; in order to maximise the client’s individual potential. We encourage our Case Workers to use their own interests and experience to develop an area of specialism, which can be used to help our clients. You will also be involved in the running of a range of activities to support recovery.

To succeed, you will have an understanding of the needs and support requirements of people with complex mental health and other associated needs. You will also have the ability to establish an effective working relationship with these clients, be client-centred and possess the skills to carry out comprehensive and individualised assessment and action planning. Having knowledge and understanding of the statutory, voluntary and consumer led services in Bath, would be advantageous.

Please note that the pattern of work is based on shift rota hours, which will include regularly working evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays. Further details about the rota pattern can be requested at the service.

In return, we offer 25 days’ annual leave plus a day’s leave for every public holiday, a range of benefits including a pension scheme, and flexible working to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance. We are also committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities in support of their personal and professional development. As a new member of the team you will be warmly welcomed and inducted to the service and the organisation.
