Position: R&D Technician
Division: Research & Development
Location: Bournville, B30 2HP
Duration: Approx. 3 months
Hourly Rate GBP12.86 PAYE (per hour) OR GBP16.19 Umbrella (per hour)
Position Description:
Primary Duties:
* Execution of trial plans + practical testing
* Operation of pilot plant equipment without supervision
* Preparing equipment & ingredients for pilot plant trials
* Cleaning equipment following trials
* Production of product samples
Data collection & report writing Secondary Duties:
* Labelling products & monitoring storage
* Stock taking of ingredients/ trial products
* Calibration of equipment
* Possible organisation + execution of sensory sessions
* Possible occasional travel to support trials at other sites
Skills Required:
* Motivated, reliable and able to work autonomously without
supervision.
* Team worker with good communication skills.
* Logical and inquisitive thinker, agile learner, able to work with
initiative.
* Safety conscious, able to follow and develop work instructions.
* English fluency (written and spoken)
Skills Preferred:
* Computer literacy (Excel , Word, PowerPoint)
* Data analysis
Experience Required:
* Engineering / Manufacturing Process / Science Background (Food
Science knowledge beneficial
Experience Preferred:
* Lab or Pilot Plant Experience
Education Required:
* Engineering / Food Science / Science Degree or Equivalent
