Field Service Engineer (Scientific Equipment)

Salary GBP25,000 - GBP35,000 PA
Skillection are working with their prestigious client who is the
leader in their field of elemental analysis and isotope ratio mass
spectrometry. Working with their clients worldwide across a range of
interesting market sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a fantastic company who offer
customer-friendly instrument solutions coupled with the ongoing
support to assist with any challenges their customers face.
The successful candidate will work across our client's stable isotope
and elemental analysis product lines. The successful candidate will
initially be based at their manufacturing facility in South Manchester
for a minimum of 12 months to receive comprehensive training on their
range of products and will become an expert on the company's
technology (IRMS and elemental analysis).
Following the initial 12-month period, the role will become home based
and work remotely. All candidates must be willing to live within
commutable distance of the company's manufacturing facility for the
first 12 months.
Your role and responsibilities:
You will perform installations, repairs, preventative maintenance and
training across the product line: high temperature combustion analysis
for non-metallic elements (C, H, N, O, S), TOC-water and N-protein
analysis and IRMS (Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry)
You will work at customer laboratories across the globe
You will also be required to work at the UK factory for testing
upgrades and repairs where necessary.
You report directly to the Operations and Quality Manager.
What is required for this role:
At least a degree in a scientific background or relevant experience
Experience in using and/or servicing scientific equipment
Good fault-finding skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience in dealing with customers in a lab environment
Good organisational skills and multiple task handling
Valid UK driving license
Ability to travel at short notice to customers in UK and overseas
The role will include a company car, a generous employer contributing
pension scheme, and a companywide bonus scheme.
