Strategic Weapons Systems Field Engineer (Navigation)

Our client, a US based Global defence giant working closely with the
MoD, is actively seeking a talented SWS Navigation Field Engineer to
work as an integral member of their team supporting the Strategic
Weapons Test Organisation (SWTO) at BAE Maritime Submarines in
Barrow-in-Furness.

This combined team will be responsible for the build, test and
commissioning of the Strategic Weapon System being installed in the
new Dreadnought Class submarines.

This SWS Navigation Field Engineer role will be based in
Barrow-in-Furness long term. However, it may be based at Faslane for a
couple of months initially but will move to Barrow and be based there
long term.

Strategic Weapons Systems experience is essential

Required skills for SWS Navigation Field Engineer

* Thorough working knowledge of Inertial Navigation Systems and
support equipment

* Good working knowledge of both 1st and 2nd level Navigation
documentation

* Good working knowledge of Navigation/Ship interfaces

* Proficient experience of Microsoft Office Software suite

* Good communications and interpersonal skills

* Excellent fault-finding skills and knowledge of sound
fault-finding techniques

* Possess a willingness to conduct detached travel whilst undergoing
specialist tailored training and experiential learning
opportunities. This may include protracted periods on secondment
throughout the UK or to the US.

Desired skills for SWS Navigation Field Engineer

Experience of Test and Commissioning activities in a shipbuilding
environment

Due to the nature of the work, successful candidates for the role of
