An independent, fast-growing start-up company selling contemporary Greeting Cards, Stationery and Gifts based in the Midlands is looking for a Warehouse and Fulfilment Manager with a degree or proven experience to join their team based in Loughborough.

Now in their 7th year, most people recognise them from their website, but they also have two shops in Loughborough and Ipswich, sell directly to other shops across the globe through their trade activity, and run a monthly stationery subscription service called Papergang.

They are passionate about what they do and only employ smart people that understand and support their goals - you should also be fun, hard-working and driven by success.

As their Warehouse and Fulfilment Manager, you will be managing the efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of all their products in line with fulfilment guidelines as laid out by customers and the company.

Your role will also involve managing the company's supply chain processes, systems and staff to ensure lead times are met and productivity is maintained to a high standard.

About the role:

  • Managing the order process for all orders received via company websites, as well as all trade customers, within established timescales
  • Ensuring that all orders are dispatched within appropriate timescales, meeting compliance guidelines and customer expectations
  • Managing the warehouse and its operations, including coordinating and managing the day to day work for the fulfilment team and delegating work when required
  • Managing and setting targets for the warehouse and fulfilment teams, including creating working rotas and following company staffing procedures
  • Liaising with the Purchasing Coordinator and suppliers to manage packaging and component levels effectively
  • Managing goods in, ensuring stock is delivered and recorded accurately and promptly
  • Managing the relationship with distributors, couriers and suppliers in order to negotiate the best prices on behalf of the Company, to ensure service levels are maintained and to ensure any problems are resolved as quickly and effectively as possible
  • Producing regular reports relating to productivity and performance
  • To carry out all Health and Safety, security and other required legislation are met

About you:

  • Degree or relevant experience within Fulfilment, Warehousing or Customer Service
  • Proven experience of working in sales and fulfilment
  • Previous experience in managing people, leading a team and delegating work
  • Previous experience of stock control and using barcoded warehouse management systems, ideally PeopleVox
  • Able to analyse data and act upon findings
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as a team player
  • Ability to work to deadlines, prioritise and manage time effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation and problem solving skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Enthusiasm and the ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Ability to work flexibly and to adapt to the needs of a small business
  • Experience of using design software, including the Adobe package (desirable)
  • Experience of working in a small business (desirable)

Benefits:

  • Company Pension
  • Excellent Staff Discount scheme
  • Relaxed working environment with two Sausage Dogs (Finley and Scout) often roaming free
  • Flexible working. While you'll be full time, they require you to be in office between the hours of 10am and 4pm (Monday to Friday) - this allows you to be flexible with your working pattern either side.
  • Social events including quizzes, film nights and trips down the pub
