Position Overview

The Senior Payroll Administrator is responsible for preparing and
running multiple payrolls on a daily and weekly basis for both PAYE
and self-employed operatives, in addition to supporting the
Administrators by overseeing work to ensure accuracy levels are
maintained.

Principal Responsibilities

Payroll

* Manage and administer the main payroll inbox(s); processing
incoming payroll schedules accurately and answering or raising any
queries relating to these from clients, within the agreed
turnaround times

* Process authorised advance payments and ensure recovery as agreed
with the client

* Conduct second checking for colleagues prior to raising invoices,
querying any discrepancies to ensure accuracy

* Process and raise any holiday pay requests received

* Input P45 submissions for new starters ensuring these are entered
accurately and in a timely fashion

* Accept and calculate statutory payment claims received by
operatives and complete the necessary checks before administering
for payment

* Produce daily and weekly reports for the Accounts department

* Answer any queries relating to payroll and invoicing from clients
and operatives and be confident in sourcing answers and responding

* Manage and administer the main expenses inbox(s); processing
incoming expenses claims accurately ensuring there is supporting
documentation and answer or raise any queries relating to these
from operatives, within the agreed turnaround times

* Complete bank reconciliations from waiting timesheets and/or
invoices to payments received and identify and resolve with
clients or internal staff any discrepancies which may arise

* Prepare and administer all aspects of daily payrolls and running
routines in accordance with agreed deadlines and schedule,
ensuring all clients are processed on the applicable payrolls as
agreed within the SLA

Customer Service

* To liaise with agencies and contractors on any payroll related
issues as required

* To assist with any payroll related issues arising, internally and
externally and to resolve in a timely and efficient manner, or, to
escalate further to ensure a resolution is obtained

Teamwork

* Provide feedback to management of potential improvements to
existing procedures

* Work as part of a team to achieve the departmental standards and
objectives

* Work effectively with other departments within the Group to
maintain excellent standards of service

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential:

* Experience working in a busy payroll department processing high
volumes of payments, with varied client requirements

* Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment

* Must have good knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, especially
Excel

* Confident and professional telephone manner

* Proficient and diligent in all aspects of data entry

* Must be a good communicator and team player

* Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines with excellent
attention to detail

* Efficient problem solver

* Self-motivated and self-disciplined
