Financial Controllers in Aldermore's Financial Control team set the benchmarks for cost control and provide the final checks and balances for all internal control systems and processes ensuring effectiveness and efficiency across the bank. The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, driven and dynamic Financial Controller Team Leader to be part of a new London-based financial services operation that has relocated. Reporting into the Director of Finance and working in the Mortgages Division this is an opportunity to setup a new team of 4, improve processes, and work closely with the operations and Finance Business Partners who are based on the outskirts of Manchester and London to create a seamless team supporting the business. You will conduct financial accounting, reporting and controllership of the Mortgages business line, including Securitisations. This is a role that will also give you the opportunity to make your mark and be recognised throughout the organisation by driving through different initiatives in a culture that, because of sustained growth, is going through a period of change.
Duties include
Manage and develop a team of 4 Mortgage Financial Controllers
Ownership and production of business line financial accounts
Produce analytical reports to Management and Group Finance
Change agent for finance transformation
Lead process and control improvements
The Person
ACA / CIMA or ACCA Qualified
Financial Services (especially Mortgages) experience is highly desirable but Professional Services backgrounds will be considered
Dynamic, enthusiastic and driven personal qualities are essential
Experience of managing and motivating small teams (ideally in multiple locations)
You will need the flexibility for weekly travel to the outskirts of Manchester (expensed)
Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise and build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders at all levels
Proven track record of continuous improvement
