RLE International is a leading automotive design and engineering consultancy supporting many of the worlds leading OEM's.

We are currently sourcing an industry specialist as follows:

Infotainment & Connectivity Application Engineer Working in the Electrical Engineering department at Dunton on current and future models of the Transit vehicle lines - market leaders in the UK for over 25 years. The Infotainment section of the Upper Body Electronics (UBE) team has responsibility for applying a large number of electronic systems and components to Transit vehicles.
The job involves a mix of process and administration work in the early program phases, relating to supplier selection, sourcing, management of data including cost and CAD, and requires working with purchase/buyers, finance, marketing, and other engineering teams to deliver to various program milestones. This then evolves to more engineering-focused delivery covering quality, component, system and vehicle testing; finally resulting in successful engineering sign-off and launch in the manufacturing plants around the globe. -
Specific tasks include: o Generate Engineering Statements of Work, Requests for Quotation, Engineering Concepts o Lead Team of 4 mtgs with cost estimating team, finance, purchase, engineering o Manage e-Ford Design Verification System o Complete Failure Mode Analysis for specified components o WERS releasing o 5D/8D generation o Health-chart management (program milestones) o Conduct PMST mtgs with suppliers o Work/engage with other PMTs to align on design at respective milestones o Meet deliverables in-line with GPDS o Travel/ on-site support at vehicle assembly plant(s) as required - Support current production vehicle quality issues and engineering changes, especially on a global basis This position will also expected to manage overall quality status for infotainment & connectivity team
Skills Required:
?? Ford Experience ?? Experience of CAN tools including CANalyser, CANoe, and/or CANDB++ ?? Knowledge of component development (including software development), control and tracking processes ?? Demonstrated excellent Project Management / Co-ordination skills. Experience of managing multiple projects at any one time ?? Good Interpersonal and Communication Skills as will be liaising with Suppliers ?? Problem and issue analysis ?? Able to run autonomously with minimal supervisory intervention ?? Actively drive issue resolution to conclusion
Skills Preferred:
- Experience of Vehicle Electrical Network Systems - Experience of Ford Product Development processes including GPDS. - Experience of engineering processes and tools e.g. eFDVS, FTEP, FMEA, 8D, FMEA, FIP, ASAP, WERS.
Experience Required:
?? Electrical/electronic experience within automotive ?? Proven track record that demonstrates ability to get up to speed in short time
Experience Preferred:
- Demonstrated experience in automotive Electrical/Electronic Systems. - Experience in quality related roles is preferred
Education Required:
HND/HNC in Engineering - Electrical preferred. Mechanical if they have technical capabilities and Ford experience
Education Preferred:
Engineering Degree - Electrical preferred - not essential
Additional Information :
Occasional travel to Germany and Turkey especially at launch time If the successful candidate can start before 02 July this can be arranged. This is a replacement position. No scope for going perm. Managers preference Candidate with at least 3 years experience with Ford experience and experience of electrical/electronic components within automotive.
