This is a multidisciplinary consultancy comprising project management and building surveying, though their primary focus being quantity surveying. You will be joining a large team, providing services to an existing and developing client basis. As you grow within the role, you will need to be prepared to undertake a number of different projects, offer a client facing image, in order to maintain the professional standard of the practice, and further grow relationships.

As a firm which has an established list of clientele you will be entering into a position which offers variety on a day to day basis covering both pre and post contract duties. Your daily responsibilities will involve, providing front end estimation and cost planning for developments. You may assume the lead position on contracts, under senior supervision, in acting as a client representative.

You will manage job costs alongside being involved in agreeing tendering procedures, preparing contract documentation and contract awards and then post contract duties including site valuations etc. This is not an exhaustive list of the responsibilities of your day to day role, but an indication of the variety on offer. To give you the greatest chance of success in acquiring this post, you will preferably be RICS accredited or have a construction related degree within quantity surveying.

You will have experience providing front end costs, and be able to consult and work with team members on projects mainly in East Anglia and London. Ideally you will have experience in working for a property consultancy, though those with experience within the construction sector will also be considered. Castons offer regular salary reviews, APC support and training for those who aren't chartered, but looking to gain professional membership to either the CIOB or RICS.

Castons are a firm that promote recognition for hard work and initiative, whether through financial reward. You will be given a clear and concise career structure in an office where all surveyors of the business promote a collaborative working culture, and friendly environment.

In return you will be offered a salary up to GBP34,000, depending on your relevant experience. You will also have professional subscriptions paid, a phone provided and a mileage allowance when using your car in connection with your work. A personal pension scheme is available and the practice offers life assurance and an optional healthcare scheme.
