Quality Manager required for a successful Food Manufacturing company based in York. Salary is circa GBP30,000 - GBP32,000 plus pension.

Our client is the largest manufacturing company of its' kind in the UK. This business has a long standing relationship with its blue chip customer base and is growing rapidly. This is an exciting business with significant growth plans for the future and has been strengthening the senior team over recent years in order to provide a strong foundation to build further.
The Quality Manager will be responsible for adhering to and promoting best practice in accordance with company health and safety requirements whilst successfully managing and exceeding customers' expectations on matters relating to food safety and quality by:
Representing the Quality Team within the site Senior Management Team
Effective management and motivation of the site quality team to achieve commercial, site and Quality objectives within the agreed timelines
Measuring site standards both across all operations in line with business, customer and legislative requirements
Working with the Group QMS Manager, assisting in the development, implementation and management of Quality Management and Operating Procedures including all Hygiene Operations, allergen management and pest control.
Ensuring appropriate cover is in place to support the site through shifts & weekend working when demands arise.
Reviewing, auditing and challenging factory operations with regards to product safety and quality to ensure that manufacturing operations maintain the highest standards in line with the overarching Group Quality Management System
Act as the site HACCP Team Leader ensuring development and monitoring of the site HACCP system in accordance with the latest 3rd Party and Customer standards.
Using root cause analysis to ensure that any deviations to the agreed standards including customer complaints are investigated and acted upon to minimise any future risks.
Conducting factory audits to ensure that all areas comply with hygienic audits, both internal and external, reporting any anomalies found ensuing that that GMP are strictly adhered to by all staff
Manage the training and development of new starters within own department and provide on-going training in line with BRC standard to existing employees.
Successful candidates will have previous experience within a similar role and will come from a food manufacturing background. Our client will consider applications who are looking for either full time or part time work.
