Full Time
To act as Underwriting Support Technician in the best interests of the
Company. Provide an efficient and high quality Technical and accounting
support services to internal and external customers with specific regard
to the Company.
Deal with all technical and accounting support functions, referring to
Team Leader when issues fall outside of own experience or knowledge
Maintain Bordereaux including formatting queries
Review accounting entries on Global XB and Pivot Point entries and
resolve all queries identified through email or query Log, by the
following means:-
Liaising with the Underwriting teams
Liaising with the Coverholders
Own investigation or utilising internal resource
Financial Accounts liaison including unmatched cash, uncollected
brokerage and funded items
Resolve queries received from Analytics, regarding difference between
Written and Premium Bordereaux, where Coverholders need to be consulted
Produce Policy documents annually for each coverholder within agreed
SLA's
Meeting KPIs for keeping query logs down and cash clearance
Deal with telephone enquiries promptly, escalating the query to the
appropriate person when the query falls outside of own knowledge or
experience
Ensure that senior team members are advised and informed of changes to
information where appropriate
Ensure all communication with clients and underwriters are accurately
recorded as per company compliance manual
Maintain all technical systems as required
Ensure all technical files are in good order and that all monitoring
procedures are adhered to as per the Company's Professional Standards
Manual
Monitor all premium payment warranties and Settlement Due Dates processed
including regular liaison with the Financial Accounts Division
Monitor Bureau submissions and query as required
Monitor and address accounting queries
Provide assistance to other areas of the Company's business as may be
required
Carry out duties following internal policies and procedures in accordance
with applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance and shared
values, in particular, putting clients at the heart of our business.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Technical Knowledge
Basic understanding and knowledge of general insurance and underlying
legal principals
Skills/other
Ability to prioritise and organise own workload to ensure that deadlines
are adhered to
Ability to work under pressure and methodically carry out work without
supervision
Ability to liaise with staff and colleagues
Ability to develop and sustain relationships with both internal and
external customers
Ability to construct effective written communications, including letters
and reports
Confident in answering the telephone, with effective telephone skills
Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel
Accurate data input skills
