Job Description


Operations Manager Interim contract 3 months minimum, 3 -4 days per week GBP30k pro rata


We are looking for an experienced operations manager to manage and oversee the operational delivery of a charity's work in a timely and cost effective manner, driving change management to achieve sustained high quality productivity throughout the organisation.

As the operations manager you will be working with the CEO to translate the charity's strategic plans into operational objectives and projects.

Be accountable for overseeing the charity's operations and projects, supporting the teams to develop all required tools, systems and processes to manage and deliver required operations and projects.

Recruit, develop and oversee staff and volunteers inc managing operational team development, objectives and performance so that the organisation's strategy is delivered.
Instil a culture of quality and business improvement throughout the charity.

Be the lead in all operational risk management activities, updating and reviewing the risk registers and policies and procedures as required.
Manage the facilities of the office and be the contact point with the landlord and their representatives.

Management of health and safety.

What we need from you:
Experience of operational management and leading a team.
Able to demonstrate change management experience with evidence of delivering projects in a changing environment with limited resources.

A proven operations leader, who has operated as part of a strategic team responsible for the development and delivery of a business plan.

A track record of developing excellent teams, and can demonstrate the ability to "get their hands dirty" and lead by example.

If you have worked for a charity or not for profit organisation this would be beneficial.

You will also have the following qualities:

Ability to lead and recognise the impact of decisions.
Ability to communicate effectively and engage at all levels.
Understanding of budgets and able to work to, and monitor, costs and revenues.
Computer literate and IT aware.
Good interpersonal skills able to motivate, reward and empower staff.
Excellent presentational skills and effective verbal/written communication skills.
Able to display sound judgement, political awareness and balance competing priorities.
