Red Eagle Recruitment are looking to recruit a Technical Manager for
our Fresh Produce Client.
Responsible for:Technical Manager
General Description
To drive the business forward with food safety and quality standards.
Provide Technical expertise in all aspects of the process in the
factory and to support other departments and H&S in the factory,
ensuring the facilities are "audit ready" at all the times and
maintains and improves high grade of achievements. Deputising and
assisting for the Compliance Manager on auditing, leading customer
visits. Reporting to head of Operations.

?? Be up to date with latest BRC / TPPS / F2F / DEFRA and other
relevant Food Safety and quality standards, familiar with EU / UK
legislation relating to Fresh Produce sector
?? Having strong understanding of product / customer specifications,
Grower and Variety approval processes and lists and maintain them
?? Building strong proactive relationships with customer technical
representatives, answering questions and requests for information
promptly and ensuring all ongoing tasks are completed within the set
deadlines that in turn effectively manage expectations
?? Retain / Maintain / Create and communicate specifications to the
quality team so they can manage this with suppliers and packhouse team
?? Assure customer specifications are being met by liaising with the
quality, compliance and systems team and ensuring any deviations are
flagged promptly
?? Investigate customer / inhouse rejections / complains and incidents,
communicating directly with quality team to understand the root cause
and communicate it back to customer. Producing corrective action plans
and reports and ensuring implementation to avoid reoccurrence.
?? Have a good understanding of the Company's policies, processes and
functions focused on Quality department. Develop and review processes,
procedures and policy relevant to their role.
?? Supporting company initiatives and demonstrate company values. Drive
"excellence" culture on the site through strong management. Ensure the
site is technically and ethically led
?? Ensure high standards of the Site Hygiene and employee personal
hygiene standards have been met. Manage internal audit systems and
prepare, manage and lead all customer audits
?? Responsible for all areas relating to consumer safety throughout the
process
?? Carry out annual Residue / Microbial analysis and trend the sample
results
?? Maintain HACCP / Daily Check / Pest Control / Calibration / COSHH
and QC Training folders and procedures
?? Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Risk Management,
Production, Packaging, Maintenance, Quality and Employee Services, HR
Department etc.) to direct technical issues to appropriate existing
channels for investigation and resolution. Consult with the Marketing
Desk Technical department
?? Provide feedback to Managers within the department and develop
mechanisms for ensuring ongoing compliance with guidance and
procedures, on trends or issues for inclusion in training programme
?? Member / leader of Packhouse HACCP Team
?? Member of Packhouse Health & Safety Committee
?? Audit cover on Compliance Manager absence, assist and conduct audits
with 3rd party auditors including Accommodations
?? Management of corrective actions / proactively thinking ahead
?? Manage Label print room, ensuring all labels are created, approved,
printed and verified in timely manner
?? Undertake any other tasks reasonably requested by the Head of
Operations
