Fixed term for 9 months (maternity cover), part-time
The School of Applied Sciences is seeking to appoint a highly qualified individual to provide student support and guidance to students within the School. This post will involve covering a wide range of support including pastoral care, guidance for students with disabilities or additional requirements and dealing with student absence as identified from the University's attendance monitoring processes. The role will also involve a significant number of one to one meetings with students. These are key roles in support of the School's retention strategy and you will play an important part in delivering activities in support of student retention.
You will be required to be adaptable, flexible, proactive and forward thinking. You will also require excellent interpersonal skills as you will be working closely with a number of teams within the School comprising both academic and support staff. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines are also essential requirements as well as the ability to design and deliver talks and presentations at key points within the academic year. The role will also involve the need to update an electronic records system and data management and analysis.
