Location: Cromer, Norfolk
Salary: Up to £7 per hour*
*the rate of pay for apprentices aged over 25 is £7, for those aged 21 to 24 the rate of pay is £7, for those aged 18 to 20 the rate of pay is £5 per hour, and for those under 18 £4 per hour.
Job Type: Full time, FTC 30 Months

The Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Housing Adaptation Officer Apprentice to work in the Integrated Housing Adaptations Team supporting the team to help adapt resident's homes to enable them to live independently.
In return you will be part of a dedicated team who support each other to work with older, disabled and ill residents across North Norfolk and will receive on the job training to support you to gain a Level 3 Technical Surveying (Building Surveying pathway) qualification. Completing this course will require you to attend a workshop once a month, this is likely to require an overnight stay and attendance at the workshops is a requirement of the role. This course will start in October 2018.

An Apprenticeship programme of training and learning will allow the post holder to gain the skills and knowledge of a Housing Adaptations Officer (HAO), assisting with the provision of support to older, disabled and vulnerable residents to help them maintain their independence through the adaptation of their homes and signposting them to services which will support their health and wellbeing.
You will need to have the ability to travel independently preferably with a full driving licence and access to a personal vehicle or be willing to take and pass your test shortly after starting work.
- Five GCSE's at Grade C (or Grade 4 as applicable) including English and Mathematics
- Experienced in using software packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook
- Full Driving licence (where currently a non driver, must be willing to gain a full driving licence within 12 months of apprenticeship commencing)
- Daily access to personal transport (once has driving licence) or the ability to travel independently
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
- Able to work outside office hours
