We have a new opportunity, not to be missed! YMCA Birmingham is currently looking for an experienced HR Officer to join our busy HR team. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis working 35 hours per week and in return you will receive a salary of £18,000 - £20,500 per annum.

YMCA Birmingham is a Christian charity providing a range of life-changing services for the local community. With a turnover of over £4m, we house over 300 young people, most of whom have experienced homelessness, and support them to get their lives back on track. We also care for 150 pre-school children in our three nurseries, and run various social enterprises to create employment and generate income for our charitable work.

With over 120 Staff and volunteers working for us, the HR team plays a critical role in delivering social change by helping us to look after our people and to help them fulfil their potential at work as we serve the people of Birmingham.

The HR Officer Role:

One of your key tasks as our HR Officer will be day to day management of our recruitment and selection function, from placing advertisements to co-ordinating the interview process through to ensuring that pre-employment checks are completed.  In this varied role, you will also collate monthly payroll information, support colleagues with HR related queries, produce employment related correspondence and maintain and develop our employee database.

You will be able to fully support the ethos and values of YMCA Birmingham, translating these into excellent HR support in a way that upholds our Christian ethos whilst remaining open to people of all faiths and none.

To be successful as our HR Officer role, you will be:

- Self-motivated

- Flexible

- Highly organised

- Able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills

- Have a full UK/EU driving licence and use of your own vehicle as the role will involve travelling to YMCA Birmingham premises
