ESAM - The Enterprise Space for Advanced Manufacturing

ESAM (the Enterprise Space for Advanced Manufacturing) is a new purpose-built centre designed to support the growth of the advanced manufacturing, engineering and low-carbon environmental goods & services sectors in Cornwall. 

Funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Cornwall Council, ESAM is the flagship first phase of development at the Carluddon Technology Park, situated on the outskirts of St Austell. ESAM has been designed to BREEAM Excellent sustainability standards and offers a mix of flexible industrial, workshop and office units within a single building envelope.

The building work on this unique facility is about to be completed and Cornwall Development Company is now looking to recruit an exceptional Centre Manager to play a key role in the creation of a dynamic environment within ESAM where occupiers and users come together to collaborate, innovate, succeed and grow.

With exceptional customer facing skills, good sector knowledge and proven business engagement experience, the Centre Manager will take responsibility for the overall direction of activities at ESAM, ensuring the effective and efficient day-to-day running of the Centre. 

A creative and confident leader, your remit as Centre Manager will be a broad one. You will need to be able to quickly build good relationships with ESAM’s businesses, acting as their first point of contact and, where appropriate, their ‘critical friend’. You will work closely with local partners such as the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Growth/Skills Hub to provide seamless ‘signposting’ to a broad range of available specialist support services, helping ESAM’s business owners/leaders establish and grow their enterprises through a keen focus on techniques and technologies that deliver productivity and profitability gains.
 
You will also take charge of ESAM’s promotional activities and events, leading the drive to attract and secure new occupiers and working with local, regional, national and international partners/sector networks to firmly establish ESAM as a key driver of manufacturing excellence within Cornwall’s strong and developing ‘Innovation Infrastructure’.
