Our client is a leading provider in the home delivery sector – they are now recruiting for a Head of Logistics.

This is a new role and would suit someone who has been a successful General or Regional Manager in a medium sized organisation and is looking for their first senior position. Experience of managing a multi site operation and ability to operate in a fast paced, customer oriented logistics environment would be advantageous. Strong commercial awareness is important with the ability to manage financial performance through the analysis of information.

The role will be accountable for the management of the warehouse and transportation operation, making recommendations for any changes that would improve operational performance. It will also involve the strong control of costs and profitability.

Attention to detail is a must to drive successful outcomes; the successful candidate will ensure consistent high quality daily operations are maintained and that there is an unwavering focus on both internal and contractual KPIs, people management and costs. Further responsibilities will include ensuring full compliance with current and future Transport Legislation and maintenance of a Health and Safety environment to comply with business and legislative requirements. Therefore, a current Certificate of Professional Competence will be a requirement of this role.

The role will require an inspiring and engaging people manager with superior client interface skills as these will be integral to success.

The location of the role is flexible however the role will have a strong focus around the East Midlands & Yorkshire.
