Job Title: CNC Machinist

Location: Maidstone, Kent, ME15

Hours: 38 hour week plus overtime at time and half / 20 days holiday year 1 then 26 days thereafter (plus back holidays)

Salary: 29K to 43K depending on overtime / 3 months’ probation

Our client is a highly successful tooling systems group, which includes specialist facilities covering Toolmaking, Injection Moulding, Checking Fixture manufacture, Specialist Machine builds and Rapid Prototyping.

Year on Year growth has now taken the Group to an Annual Turnover approaching £10 million and employing over 60 highly skilled and dedicated personnel on 3 manufacturing sites and with a wide ranging customer base including many Blue Chip clients from the Automotive, Aerospace, Medical, Electronic & Building Products industries in both Low & Medium volumes with a particular specialty in niche market high quality low volume parts.

Due to this success and exciting changes within the company our client has an opportunity for an experienced CNC Programmer and Operator to join a very successful and growing advanced engineering company working mainly in the Automotive and Aerospace sectors.

Duties Will Include:

• Programming mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements.
• Maintaining specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
• Maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

The successful Candidate:

• Will have the ability to write their own programmes using best techniques to ensure the machining is carried out on a variety of CNC machines from 3 Axis to full 5 Axis, with the emphasis on efficiency and quality expected from our customers.

The work is varied, challenging with tight deadlines, thus plenty of overtime will be available dependant on the project.
