What we are looking for;
We are looking for a hands-on, passionate and energetic, self-motivated individual with the ability to respond quickly to daily business requirements. Someone who thrives on working within a team and developing new team members to do the same.
The pub / restaurant is committed to serving seasonal classic food with a twist made in-house. You will be working along side our head chef to create your own dishes and seasonal menus along with the newly appointed General Managers, with the main goal to produce the best food possible.
You will need to be able to work on your initiative or within in a small team, most importantly you will have a real passion for fresh food. With your love of food and your appetite to provide exceptional service to our customers you'll deliver delicious food with a focus on exceeding our customers' expectations ensuring, each dish is fresh, tasty and beautifully presented every time.
You'll be working with seasonal, local and regional ingredients, in a well-equipped kitchen - within a company that really understands the importance of getting food right.
The Chef's position requires you;
" Have a firm grasp on environmental health and hygiene standards.
" An ability to order stock and have stock management experience.
" Must be able to manage and control the pubs gross profit percentage against budget
" Must have proven communication skills and be able follow instructions from the general managers
" Have a full understanding of a hands-on position
" Must have passion and imagination to produce weekly specials, with new and existing stock
" Must be confident in decision making
" Must be able to manage a small team and your own time to deliver amazing food
" Day to day running of kitchen
" Must be passionate and take great care and pride in what they put on the plate and help us build a great reputation in the area
This position will be working 40+ hours per week with mostly straight shifts and 28 days annual leave.
Part of the William Jackson Food Group, The Ferguson Fawsitt Arms is a family owned public house that has been part of a group for a long time and due to this the offering delivered is a great range of local ales and traditional food. We have a small amount of rooms as well as a large function room that is highly utilised for a variety of events and functions.
We have a number of roles available and would be keen to talk to you if you are a head chef, sous chef, chef de partie, it would be great if you are local to us, as we dont have any onsite accommodation, or prepared to relocate to a beautiful village in the heart of East Yorkshire, with York, Hull, Leeds, Sheffield all within an hour.
