Are you an ambitious news reporter seeking the next stage in your career? Do you want to report on issues which really matter to people in your community?
Do you want to be part of a groundbreaking initiative between the BBC and the country’s top publishers?
We are seeking Local Democracy Reporters based across Scotland to hold local councils to account and to report to the public on how and why decisions are made.
Working across print, web and broadcast, your work will appear in Scotland’s top regional and local titles as well as potentially BBC broadcasts and online.
Responsibilities will include writing news reports and analysis features, some broadcast appearances, and creating engaging content that drives audiences through SEO and social media awareness.
You will ideally be a senior journalist or a promising trainee with some experience. You must have a shorthand proficiency of 100 wpm or greater and be able to demonstrate an impartial and politically-neutral approach to your work.
