What is the role?

We are currently seeking an Electrical Technician who will be the electrical subject matter expert on a maintenance contract for Addenbrookes Treatment Centre within Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust with an annual P&L of GBP3m. This is an incoming contract for Serco, delivering hard services to our NHS client and tenants which include Medical Research Council and The Wellcome Trust. Services includes a Decontamination unit, operating theatres, wards facilities, Laboratory units and all associated healthcare plant and equipment including services interface with Addenbrookes main site.

The Electrical Technician will be a key member of the management team, managing day-to-day delivery of the estates maintenance service and the Electrical Maintenance team, along with sub-contractors as required. The team provide reactive maintenance repairs, PPM, fault finding, installation, servicing, testing & commissioning to a wide range of services, plant and equipment;

* Building services control systems (BMS)
* IET Wiring Regulations
* Fire alarm systems
* Emergency Lighting
* UPS & IPS Systems

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will have proven electrical experience in a similar environment, with experience in a healthcare setting an advantage. They will have previously have managed a team of technical staff including sub-contractors. With a recognised appropriate electrical engineering qualification; they will have a full understanding of relevant health and safety legislation and hold 17th Edition (BS7671) certification.
