About the Role


As our Network and Security Engineer, we're looking for you to use your technical expertise in relation to IT Security and internal systems to review our current infrastructure and provide guidance and best practices to best secure our network.

You'll be responsible for ensuring all our systems are updated and patched with the latest available patches from Microsoft and all vendors as well as ensuring all known vulnerabilities are mitigated against.

You'll also ensure proactive, as well as reactive, day to day maintenance and configuration of CheckPoint Firewalls, HP & Cisco Switches.

There's a fantastic chance for you to come here and put your own stamp on things, we're looking to change and upgrade provided there is valid justification.

We're looking for you to hit the ground running, working independently with autonomy to look at our current processes, making suggestions and able to justify and communicate your solutions to people at all levels.

Our Team

You'll join our IT team based in Watford and led by Ricardo our IT Manager. There are 4 other members in the team ranging in skills who will be there for support. Looking wider we have a larger technical team across the group, who manage our group services who you'll work closely with.

Who You'll Be

We want to make sure you're set for success, this isn't all about your skills and that's why we'd love to talk to you, even if you don't fit all of the below:

+ comfortable with creating, communicating, implementing and managing standards and adhering to deadlines
+ technically competent , with hands on experience of the following:
+ Networks, routing and troubleshooting
+ Domain DNS / DHCP
+ LAN / WAN / VPN management and troubleshooting;
+ a track record of creating or proposing processes
+ Able to manage projects effectively and on time
+ excellent knowledge of networks / firewalls, configuring of checkpoint firewalls and Cisco switches
+ An understanding of: Windows Operating System (DesktopServer) andVMware
+ demonstrable knowledge of information security best practices;
+ ideal but not essential is some knowledge on penetration testing
