We are looking for a HGV Maintenance Fitter at our Faversham site who would be interested in working for  multi customer, market leading Logistics Company on a permanent basis.

 Your responsibilities


 You will work within a friendly and experienced team you will carry out all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repairs on a large fleet of commercial vehicles and trailers including breakdowns and recovery.

 

Working as part of a small close knit team, we are offering evening work (14:00hrs to 22:00hrs) Monday to Friday with rotational weekend working.

You will ensure that you achieve:

• Test vehicles, observe, recognise and report defects or symptoms of impending problems
• Service, adjust and repair vehicles or components
• Implement approved manufacturer’s modifications
• Manufacture or service component parts
• Recover defective or damaged vehicles
• Maintain and repair equipment used within transport operation
• Prepare vehicles and trailers for MOT inspections
• Prepare written reports regarding vehicle condition, accident damage or defects discovered
• Keep tools and equipment in a clean and working condition
• Maintain safety standards at all times and use protective equipment provided

 Essential Qualifications:

• Irtec qualified or NVQ/C&G in Motor Vehicle Studies (Heavy Goods)

 


Desirable Skills and Experience:

• LGV Class 1 driving license
• Preferably 3 years’ experience of HGV Repairs
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems & refrigeration systems
• Able to work alone or as part of a team
• Effective communication skills
• Dependable and reliable
