Supply Chain Manager needed.

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a successful and well established steelwork engineering business based in Wakefield. They supply the construction industry and now seek a Supply Chain Manager to join their team and offer a competitive salary and rewarding career for the successful candidate.

Supply Chain Manager duties include:

- Ensuring competitive pricing / service received from all supply routes, across all categories (Equipment, MHE, Transport and Installation), with regular reviews carried out.
- Maintain and build on relationships with existing suppliers and research alternative sources.
- Supplier Audits and working with design, product quality audits / checks.
- Analysis and mitigation of supply chain risk across all categories.
- Creating and maintaining Master Data / Supplier Info records.
- Category control of material groups including PPV responsibility.
- Support annual cost reduction objectives via price negotiation, competitive tender, value engineering and other cost reduction opportunities.
- Develop and maintain an up to date installation database.
- Introduce and maintain agreed KPI's across all supply routes.

Key Requirements, Skills and Experience

- Previous experience within a similar role is a must.
- Good background knowledge of steel based manufacturing processes, with ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings a must.
- SAP knowledge, CIPS qualification along with a Health and Safety knowledge / qualification would be an advantage.
- Excellent analytical skills with an ability to compile a reasoned justification
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Flexible and positive attitude.
- Good planning and management skills.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office (Excel etc)
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, being able to work to and achieve tight deadlines and having excellent organisational skills.
- Full driving licence is preferred.
