COMPUTER OFFICER

Fixed term until April 2020

Salary range £27,285 - £35,550

Sidney Sussex College is seeking to recruit a full time COMPUTER OFFICER on a fixed term contract until April 2020.  Joining a busy IT Department and reporting to the IT Manager, the post holder will be required to assist in maintaining and developing the IT facilities throughout the College across a broad range of hardware, peripheral, operating systems and networking.   

Working 37.5 hours per week with some flexibility necessary, the salary for this post is paid at points 36 - 45 on the University’s single pay spine, currently equating to £27,285 - £35,550 per annum.  Incremental progression through the range is discretionary.  This post is pensionable under the College’s attractive contributory pension scheme, includes free lunches when on duty and subsidised membership of the College’s gym facilities.

The successful candidate will possess relevant qualifications to at least A’ level standard or equivalent; a solid working knowledge of Microsoft systems and packages including MS server, Exchange and SQL. They will also be familiar with networking, VLANs, IP and LAN/WAN structure.  Knowledge of Mac OS X and Linux would be an advantage.
