About the role

Reporting to the Sales Manager, our Summer Sales Agents are the at the front line of NCS recruitment at The Challenge. In this position you will engage with young people and parents to ensure their participation in NCS, both face-to-face and over the phone. For three months, during the summer, it requires passionate and enthusiastic people motivated by targets and performance, who enjoy working with a passionate team. You must be able to work well within a team environment but be a proactive individual, being accountable to your responsibilities. Summer Sales Agents will attend a variety of events and will be leading on presentations in front of mixed audiences, in addition to coordinating welcome events for young people on the NCS programme.

Responsibilities

  • Calling interested young people to encourage to attend the programme.
  • Selling NCS to young people and parents with all the NCS benefits.
  • Required to engage with parents through presenting and running pre-programme information evenings.
  • Take responsibility for a number of programme dates during summer delivery to ensure the full cohort of young people turn up and to fill every place.
  • Performance against targets set by your line manager.
  • Supporting your local administrative team.

Skills and experience

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills both in person and over the phone.
  • Ability to engage with 15 to 17 year olds, with their parents, in an enthusiastic and authentic way.
  • Motivation to work towards and exceed targets.
  • Ability to adapt presentation style to a varied audience.
  • A strong work ethic and excellent time management skills with proven multitasking abilities.
  • Experience managing own workload and working within a team.
  • Able to take direction and carry out tasks to a high standard.

Desirable

  • Public speaking experience
  • Experience working with young people and schools
  • Sales experience
