PLANNING MANAGER
SPECIALIST ENGINEERING BUSINESS

Newly created opportunity! My Client, a global Engineering organisation, are looking for a dynamic Planning manager to head up their Supply Chain team. It is a fantastic opportunity that will give the role holder genuine autonomy and offer head space for future progression with the business.
THE ROLE
Reporting straight to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for managing a team within Materials Planning and Logistics. You will be inheriting an experienced team, ensuring the production efficiency's and materials availability are optimised. The business are also in the early stages of a systems implementation, of which the role holder will become an integral part. Key responsibilities will include;
* Developing the supply chain team to be agile and robust
* Ensuring material availability through material scheduling and considering flow constraints such as warehouse pallet spaces, pallet washing capacity and flow, and inventory targets.
* Determining and delivering against robust KPIs and targets across all areas of line and process responsibility
* Working with site Production, Warehouse, Technical Line Managers and Demand Planning to improve and enhance customer service levels
* Coordination and communication across the Supply Chain on site and to warehousing in Germany (SC Planning, Logistics)
THE PERSON
Based from the Manchester facility, the ideal Planning Manager will need to have strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Key requirements for the role will include;
* Strong Supply chain planning/ materials management experience
* Experience within a manufacturing environment is essential, ideally engineering
* Worked at a management level (supervisory and above)
* Good ERP/MRP and general IT skills
* Degree educated preferred, but not essential
