Job Summary:

Identifies and prioritises their own work in order to proactively and strategically improves the business EHS performance, ensuring that systems sustain and encourage continuous improvement of standards.

They use and promote the use of analytical and structured approaches in the way they tackle there work to improve the safe conditions the employees work within. 2-3 structured improvement projects per year to continue improving the safety record of the site. Coaching, positive reinforcement and leading by example are critical elements of this role.

Accurate and timely preparation of corporate and legal report as required is expected of this individual, and presentation to senior leadership team is clear and consistent.

Insurance that the business is adhering to the necessary regulatory standards for EHS compliance is a must, and involvement in both internal and external audits will be necessary.

Work environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time; dust; heat; humidity, odors. The noise level in the work environment varies and hearing protection is required in some work areas. The employee is frequently exposed to extremely high speed machinery with open inward turning rolls, extremely hot surface areas and moving lift truck traffic

Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Associates degree or above in related field preferred or a combination of related training, education and experience.

NEBOSH General Certificate is an entry level requirement

Current or able to qualify for CPR / 1st aid / BBP certifications

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other certification preferred

Lean Six Sigma Green / Black Belt or other Quality Management methods preferred

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other certification preferred

3-5+ years of professional experience

Experience in a safety role in a manufacturing environment

Experienced with OHSAS18001 ISO14001

Experienced with ISO9001 procedures and processes
