Location: London

An opportunity has arisen for an in house Solicitor to join our Legal and Commercial Services team within Adecco UK & Ireland.

The Solicitor will be expected to work under the general management of the Legal Manager and support all Adecco brands, to advise, negotiate and draft a range of contracts both standard and non-standard for services into both UK and non-UK jurisdictions.

The role is primarily focussed on the support of the International business carried out by various brands within the Adecco UK and Ireland Group. The Solicitor will be expected to be the first point of contact for all client related contractual queries and work with the International Assignment Services team to support the business to supply compliant international services.

Teamwork: Work and support the Legal & Commercial Services Team in order to provide efficient and timely advice. Develop the skillset to be a trusted advisor.

Contracts: Prepare advice and negotiate contracts received across the Adecco brands under appropriate supervision and in adherence to Commercial Services processes and internal KPI's.

Process: Work within the Legal & Commercial Services Team to ensure parameters for approvals are adhered to and escalate to the Legal Manager where areas of concern or conflict arise. Work within set guidelines and follow a compliant set of processes, controls and to record matters diligently and promptly.

Administration: Support the team with respect to Contract administration and fulfilling its' global audit requirements. Legal investigation and research in law books and via the internet, draft basic legal documents and correspondence, analyse data.

Key Activities

* Build an understanding of the regulations and delivery models affecting international recruitment so as to advise and support the International Assignment Services division of the legal team.
* Upon receipt of a contract request obtain clear and concise instructions from the business in order to effectively prepare a response. Advise on commercial and legal risks within a contract in line with business/client expectations and deadlines
* Engage in direct communication with business/clients in respect of feedback on legal advice and negotiations on commercial contracts and ancillary documentation. This could be both oral and written.
* Liaising with the business and where required the Managing Directors of the relevant Adecco brand in order to seek approval of commercial elements of the contract and prepare internal paperwork for Board approval
* Advice on changes to standard contracts issued as well as non-standard ad hoc contractual documentation imposed by third parties for the supply of recruitment services.
* Solicitors will be required to operate the Legal & Commercial Services Helpdesk on a rotational basis a part of the front line communication with the business and be required to give prompt and tailored advice, and evaluate queries that come in
* Support and work on key departmental projects to promote the profile of the Legal & Commercial Services team and Legal Department
* Keep up to date with labour leasing regulations around the world and the key legal developments effecting recruitment services globally. Reach out to external local legal counsel in order to obtain legal advice on labour leasing and compliance for cross border services.
* Ensure legal knowledge is up to date and be proactive in sharing this with the Legal & Commercial Services Team and where required provide articles/written material for internal legal publications and such other legal publications introduced from time to time.
* Take responsibility for know-how and standards, undertake legal training through seminars, workshops webinars, and updates through the company's intranet.
* To provide legal advice to all business areas in relation to their supply requirements, in close collaboration all members of the Legal & Commercial Services Team
* To comply with all KPIs required by Legal & Commercial Services Team in the delivery of legal advice and to effectively update and maintain the team log of all contracts; adhere to the Group requirements and processes whilst doing so.
* Maintaining file records on in-house case management software (prior experience of case management software non-essential)

Qualifications

Law degree or other equivalent qualification

Background/Experience

-Demonstrable experience in an in-house/commercial industry role evidencing experience of working in commercial contracts environment - Essential

-Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and to keep prioritises under review- Essential

-Experience in recruitment industry or sales/retail environment- Desirable

-Experience of in commercial contracts environment for international jurisdiction- Desirable

Knowledge

?? Knowledge and clear understanding of all aspects of pertinent commercial/employment law affecting the Adecco group and its clients
