You will be responsible for the coordination and control of all aspects of product manufacturing within the business, from point of order until arrival in the UK. You will manage a manufacturer base across Europe, China, Vietnam and India and will work with them on new product development as well as product and packaging transformation of existing products. You will maintain a healthy tension with the Buying and the Design team to ensure only the very best quality products get designed and re-ordered to ensure a fantastic customer experience every time and will manage a team on the ground in country to ensure this is executed to the highest standard You will define our long term manufacturing strategy and run all of the day-to-day operations, with complete responsibility for product quality and durability as well as managing and optimising the manufacturing production schedule for timely product delivery to the UK., * Define manufacturing strategy including manufacturer sourcing, on-boarding, performance management and product development * Develop transparency and compliance of supply chain, to improve timeliness, quality and reduce risk * Manage manufacturers' performance, exceeding SLAs and driving continuous performance improvement * Define performance scorecard and agree commercial terms with manufacturers including late penalties, quality issues and QC time compensation to drive adherence to SLAs * Define best in class processes for on the ground quality control team and product technicians, including clear KPIs and technology requirements for efficiency improvements * Lead monthly product quality and manufacturer briefing for Design and Buying for new and existing products, based on quality returns data at SKU and attribute level and sign off all new product development, from a quality, durability and stability stance * Work with on the ground team to facilitate delivery of new products on the target date, ensuring product and packaging are fit for purpose pre launch to customers and trouble shoot existing product quality issues * Experience within e-commerce product manufacturing environment (e.g. furniture, automotive, white goods) * Excellent relationship building, communication and negotiation skills * Understanding of compliance, H&S and CSR * Attention to detail and an ability to drive tactical process improvements in the manufacturing and quality control processes * Strong analytical skills, keen eye for detail and proven ability to solve issues * Strategic approach and commercial acumen * Experience working in a fast-paced environment defining and launching processes, not just managing them.
