Legal Adviser
The Role
Salary - GBP28,098 - GBP32,548 per annum
Full Time, Permanent position
We are looking for a team player to join our small compliance team in the new role of in-house Legal Adviser. The initial focus of the role will be on contracts and data protection advice but with an expectation that the role holder will provide and source a wide range of legal advice for the University.
You will prepare, review, amend and negotiate University and third party contracts in accordance with University policies. Working within agreed guidelines and templates, you will negotiate robust and appropriate agreements on behalf of the University. You will liaise with academics, business development, research, procurement and other professional service colleagues across the University.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate relevant experience of in managing contract processes and drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts. Knowledge of data protection legislation would be an advantage.
