Job Title: Technical Assistant
Salary: GBP25,000
Location: Biggleswade
Client is a multi-metal stockholder based in Biggleswade. Client has been established for over 200 years and trades from 15 locations across the UK. The Technical Services Division is looking to recruit a full time Technical Assistant to work in the Laboratory. This is a varied and interesting position and you will liaising with both customers, suppliers and colleagues. This is an excellent opportunity to work for an innovative market leader operating in many market sectors.
Requirements:
Have a practical approach to laboratory testing
Experience of performing a range of test methods, such as mechanical, chemical, corrosion
and metallurgy would be beneficial
Be aware of quality systems and approvals such as UKAS
Able to work from written procedures and to follow the detail precisely Good interpersonal skills and able to integrate into a small team
Be able to act in a supervisory role
Comfortable presenting to small groups of people Some experience in sales would be beneficial
Competent in the use of computers
Training:
Training will be provided in all aspects of the test disciplines, techniques and use of
instruments
Training will be continuous, in-house and on the job until you are familiar with the
laboratory procedures.
Sales training will be provided via an on-line programme
Other:
Carry out other laboratory activities as needed.
It is possible that in the future you may be asked to deal with certain aspect of the quality
management system including internal audits and corrective action maintenance Potential for career advancement
