Business Systems Architect

Penspen is looking for a Business Systems Architect to help and manage the selection, implementation and support of systems and applications for the functions and service lines.

This cross-functional role is critical for developing the business technology requirements that will deliver on Penspen's global strategy.

Main Purpose of Role:

Reporting to our Director of Information Technology; the Business Systems Architect will collaborate closely with all functions and service lines to understand the business technology needs.

The systems stack includes: Unit4Business World, Ceridian HRIS, Dynamics CRM, Wrench Document Management, Fleetmatics and a variety of downstream applications via integrations.

Responsibilities:

Provides high-level system architectural design on business systems.

• Creates and owns the technical architecture roadmap for business systems in keeping with the overall platform strategy.
• Responsible for key architectural deliverables such as data models, systems diagrams, design documents etc.
• Develops a business intelligence platform that provides master data management, data governance, reporting and analytics for all systems and apps.
• Partners closely with the Finance, HR and IT teams.
• Participates in RFP processes to enable and maintain business systems.
• Creates and executes on the reporting and analytics strategy.
• Other duties as assigned in alignment with skills and expertise.

Knowledge / Experience (Skills):

• Wide ranging experience in managing progressively complex enterprise wide business systems.
• Demonstrable application of analytical thinking through prior management of technical or business projects of varying size and scope.
• General computer programming/coding experience.
• Established architecture and/or system architecture design experience.
• Experience with Unit4Business World or another global financial ERP and its surrounding ecosystem would be beneficial. Additional experience in payments platforms is an added advantage.
• Deep knowledge of business intelligence platforms and experience in implementing such platform.
• Strong expertise in cloud based multi-tenant systems.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization - from executives to analysts.
• A proven record of accomplishment in solving complex problems.
• Detail oriented and organized with clear ability to identify areas that require improvement.

Qualifications:

• A B Sc. degree in computer science, software engineering, management information systems (MIS) or a related technical field with demonstrably comprehensive career experience, or an MSc degree in computer science, software engineering, management information systems (MIS) or a related technical field with detailed & relevant work experience.
• Possession of a master of business administration (MBA) degree would be distinctly advantageous.
