Working in the Council's Recovery Team this is an excellent opportunity for those looking to be part of a team committed to delivering excellent customer service.

The team are responsible for the income collection and management of Sundry Debts and overpayments of Housing Benefit invoices.

You will be helping customers face-to-face, in writing and by telephone. You will be negotiating arrangements to clear the customer's debts, whilst using your problem-solving skills. You will need good mathematical skills and be able to deal with matters in an assertive but empathetic manner.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual who will provide a valuable high standard of administrative support Senior Recovery Officers.

You must be well organised, flexible, enjoy being part of a busy environment and have the ability to deal with changing and competing priorities.

You should possess good oral and written communication skills and have a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and in particular, Word and Excel.

A background in customer service or debt recovery environment would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.

The ability to handle work of a confidential nature and able to communicate confidently are essential features of the post.
