Housing Solutions Officer

Are you a hard working social housing professional who has a background working in Homelessness or Housing Options? If so, BRC want to hear from you regarding an attractive interim contract that has become available in South Wales.

This fast paced and diverse role will require you to work on the front line contributing to the delivery of the council's statutory services in homelessness, homelessness prevention and housing advice.

As the Housing Solutions Officer, you will work proactively to minimise homelessness and prevent evictions through mediating between potentially homeless clients and their landlords, relatives and friends.

You will conduct interviews and home visits with those presenting as homeless, people threatened with homelessness or clients requiring housing advice. Further to this you will be tasked with maintaining their current accommodation through early intervention; negotiation; and homelessness prevention methods.

You will carry out relevant statutory homelessness investigations in line with the Housing (Wales) Act 2014. Following this assessment, you will be responsible for making statutory decisions promptly and within set timescales.

In return for your knowledge and expertise, we can offer a competitive hourly rate and free onsite parking. This is initially a 4-5 month temporary contract, which has the possibility for further extension for the right candidate.
