Insurance Account Handler
BP Insurance Brokers started life in Blackpool in 1958, and has grown over the years into the leading high street insurance broker for the Fylde Coast area. We’ve earned a first-rate reputation for arranging competitive insurance in the North West, and indeed across the whole country. We’ve never forgotten our roots, though, and remain a familiar name on the high streets of Lancashire’s Fylde Coast at our four locations in Blackpool, St Annes, Cleveleys and Lancaster.
Our portfolio of insurance products is an extensive one, including Car Insurance, Home Insurance, Business Insurance, Travel Insurance, Motorcycle Insurance, Commercial Vehicle Insurance, Buy To Let Insurance and Taxi Insurance. But it doesn’t end there, with more specialist insurance policies in such fields as Classic Car Insurance, Holiday Home Insurance and Camera Taxi Insurance.
We are looking for qualified candidates to join us in our General Insurance Personal Lines team at our Blackpool, Cleveleys and St Annes Branches.

This role gives you a fantastic opportunity to develop your technical skills and the opportunity to meet our customers face to face.
You will be sponsored to study for the Chartered Institute of Insurance (CII) exams should you not have attained this qualification already.
As a successful candidate you will have a full working knowledge of General Insurance products, including:
Market awareness and presence
In-depth knowledge of trends / patterns within Finance and Insurance sectors
In-depth technical and product knowledge and understanding of products and underwriting strategy
Legislation / Regulation
Trading skills and behaviours
The successful candidate will be dealing with customers, understanding their demands and needs and providing the right advice and products.
You will need to be able to demonstrate confidence, flexibility, motivation and be committed to developing yourself to build a long-term career in the insurance industry.

Desirable Knowledge & Skills
Working hours are Monday - Friday 9.00 - 5.30 with 30 minutes for lunch. Sat am's 9.00 - 12.00. All staff get a half day each week (except Bank Hol weeks) so work a 5 day week. Half days can fall on mornings, afternoons and Saturdays.
We also have vacancies for Apprentices. The intensive training programme lasts six months at the end of which you should progress from the apprenticeship to your statement of competence and commence your role as a personal lines clerk. Full details of the training and package will be discussed at your interview should you be shortlisted. If you wish to be considered as an apprentice you must have the following:-
Minimum of 240 UCAS points (Equivalent to 3 “C”s at “A” level)
Minimum of 5 GCSE’s at grade A to C with two of those being in Maths and English
Alternatively if you have worked in a public facing/customer service role for more than 12 months you may also be considered.
