Our client, an international automotive engineering business, is now looking to recruit a Project Manager to join their team on permanent basis!
The successful candidate will ideally have strong experience in a similar role for an automotive 1st Tier supplier.

Main purpose:

To effectively manage, drive and control single or multiple projects to both the customers and our client's expectations meeting all goals of timing, cost, quality and Customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for the early identification of possible weaknesses and recommend possible solutions to resolve them.

Key Responsibilities:

- To lead Project teams to deliver the objectives for new product introduction projects' ensuring use of best practice project management techniques.
- To liaise with and maintain a good working relationship with the customer.
- To lead customer project meetings and visits when required.
- Ensure that all Projects are managed in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures
- Control and delivery of budgets for prototypes, development and tooling expenditure.
- Maintain project timing plan and highlight concern areas.
- Chair and minute project meetings with the project team as appropriate.
- Report project summary including preparation of phase exit documentation.
- Communicate clearly issues to the project team and plan resources accordingly.
- Be responsible for preparation of commercial aspects, especially engineering changes and traceability of these through the project.
- Support the Programme Manager's on cost drive initiatives on current business.
- Manage Engineering Changes on current production parts.

Experience and Qualifications:

- Educated to degree or equivalent level in technically based subject.
- German speaking preferred.
- Relevant Project management experience, ideally with some qualification e.g. PRINCE 2
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Interpersonal skills that enable you to work with people at all levels and develop good working relationships.
- Problem solving and negotiation skills
- Initiative and the ability to offer new ideas
- Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
- Ability to motivate and lead a team
- Computer literate in Microsoft office programmes including Project
