Edinburgh - PMO/Finance Analyst- up to GBP35,000 per year plus benefits.

I'm looking for an experienced PMO Analyst to join a large financial organisation.

The successful candidate would be working in the Operations team that covers all sorts of business support functions such as Change, Property & Procurement and Payments.

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join the Change Operations Team as a Finance & Portfolio Planning Analyst.

Core responsibilities would include:

Financial Management

  • Maintain Finance Trackers and derive key MI and Dashboard metrics for reporting into all weekly and monthly forums
  • Raise and manage the Change SABIS Purchase Orders and Invoices
  • Reporting on invoicing vs. estimates
  • Manage Project Change Requests and Vision Statements as part of the Portfolio planning exercise
  • Respond to queries in relation to financial management processes
  • Responsible for Impact Assessment (Quotation) Management end to end
  • Ad hoc management information and reporting

PMO Analyst - Finance & Portfolio Planning Role to have these skills and experience:

  • Experience of working within a project-orientated function; experience of supporting Programme and Project Managers preferred but not necessary
  • Finance qualification preferred - either degree or working towards an accounting qualification or at least three years experience working in a Finance role
  • Agile knowledge - preferably Scrum
  • Attention to detail
  • MS Office Suite - Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Excellent organisational ability and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly, calmly and positively to changing priorities
  • Disciplined work approach including the ability to work to deadlines, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy is essential
  • Financial Services industry experience preferred but not necessary

We know it takes more than just skills and experience, so our PMO Analyst - Finance & Portfolio Planning will have the following accountabilities

  • Use the established methodologies and disciplines to ensure projects are under control and on track to deliver, - escalating as appropriate
  • Support Finance Manager in Reporting Pack Preparation eg changes delivering into the bank, including forward look ahead dashboards; monthly change reporting and month end financials
  • Track and monitor WO predicted spend vs Actual amount invoiced - reporting on variances both in resource time and cost
  • Create useable MI packs around both financials and PM metrics
  • Review and improve current SR tracking processes
  • Ensure project forecast spend is in line with actuals (programme projects mainly)
  • Co-ordinate Finance and the Project Managers on the monthly actuals and forecasting process
