TAA are pleased to support their client based in Hampshire for a Senior Mechanical Design
Job Description
To provide design leadership or work as part of a team on allocated jobs with particular emphasis on both detail and installation design, on behalf of Design Office.
Primary tasks
Main tasks will include but are not limited to:
Preparation of schemes, details and assembly drawings etc for aircraft modifications or projects arising from Customer specifications or approved Research and Development tasks.
Liaison with all other technical specialisations with the Design Office in order to produce coherent and comprehensive design solutions and packages.
To assist in the training of junior personnel within the department, as requested.
Deal with engineering problems and provide acceptable solutions, in accordance with Design Office procedures.
To analyse and decide on courses of action for DQFs, NCRs, Production Permits and Concessions relating to mechanical engineering.
Key skills and attributes:
Communication: Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills with ability to retain composure and flexibility under pressure
Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and outlook
Organisation: Ability to multi-task and to determine and manage priorities to meet multiple deadlines
Team Working: Effective in a team and as an individual. Precise, accurate and meticulousness. Reliable, pro-active and self-confident.
Minimum qualifications requirements:
Degree / HND / HNC in related engineering subject
Required experience:
Design office
Mechanical design
Experience in an aerospace design environment
